Five iPhone Apps for Photographers

Hello world! Ray here to talk about photography! If the best camera is the one that’s on you then that must mean the best photography tools are also the ones that are always on you. Here is a list of three iPhone apps that are very helpful for photographers! Whether you take photos with your phone or you digitally transfer them from a DSLR, you’ll find an app here that you will find useful.

    CAMERA+ 2

If you are learning the basics of photography but don’t own a DSLR camera, try looking up Camera+ 2. It’s a very powerful camera app that lets you take photos in full manual mode on you phone. It will let you adjust basic camera setting, gives you full control over zooming vs. digital zooms, and you can even edit the photos afterwards in the same app. They say the best camera is the one that’s on you . Why not turn that phone into the best camera it can be?

    POCKET LIGHT METER

Anybody who works in photography can tell you that a light meter is important when shooting manual so why not have a light meter in your pocket at all times? Pocket Light Meter lets you insert your ISO into the app and it will tell you what aperture and shutter speed setting will work for what’s in your frame. It even lets you add notes to photos you take with the app. A great tool all photographers should have is a light meter, and Pocket Light Meter gives you an easy-to-use light meter that will always be in your pocket.

    ADOBE LIGHTROOM

Adobe has been king of the photograph editing castle, and they’ve brought their creative suite to mobile phones and tablets. The app lets you adjust basic elements like exposure and colour balance while still being power enough to let you do some impressive colour grading. You can even organize your photos with folders and star rating on your phone. Be able to adjust your photos while on the go from a photo shoot!

    ENLIGHTEN PHOTOFOX: DIGITAL ART

After retouching your photos, you may want to add more style to express yourself. Enlighten Photofox lets you do just that! You can play around with double exposure, play with overlays, and do other fun artistic alterations to a photo. The pro version has a monthly subscription cost, but the free version of the app is still very powerful and fun to use.

    INSTAGRAM

And finally, every photographer needs a place to publicly display their art, right? Instagram is one of the more popular social media platforms, and several photographers use it as a platform to show off their portfolio. You can post photos, follow friends, and even add stories to your profile so others can see what you do in a more candid setting.
