A conversation with Cecilio on Gender and substance abuse

Our next presenter Cecilio Guillermo Escobar is a founding member of Toronto Queer Film Festival and a member of Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival’s programming committee. Cecilio is a video artist, editor, and technician. He is the recipient of a Canada Council Media Arts Grant for his current documentary project, LatinX; an exploration of the intersections between his gender and cultural identities. His art practice consists of self-reflective performative documentary, Cecilio is an active member of the community. As a technician at SAC, he facilitates hands-on learning and at the Griffin Centre LGBTQ community he teaches youth about storytelling. Cecilio holds a BFA from OCAD University.
