Getting Content On To Broadcast Pix Switcher

Exporting clips out of Final Cut Pro

  1. Choose File from the drop down menu
  2. Choose Export - Using QuickTime Conversion
  3. A save pop-up window will appear. Under format choose QuickTime Movie then the Options button.
  4. Select Settings under the Video tab.
  5. Change the Compression Type to DV/DVCPRO-NTSC
  6. Change the Frame Rate to 29.97
  7. Change the Compressor settings to Best
  8. Choose the Aspect Ratio of the Clip
  9. Then click OK
  10. Check the sound settings to ensure they are correct. They should be as follows: 48.000kHz, Best Quality and 16 Bit audio
  11. Unselect the Prepare for Internet Streaming box
  12. Make sure to name the clip uniquely with your name and what the clip is. Avoid things like Untitled and Clip 2

Getting the clip(s) on to the Broadcast Pix Switcher

  1. On the Mac, choose Finder Go then Connect to Server
  2. Type smb://Bpix then click Connect
  3. Choose the Clips Share Directory
  4. Find the Show Folder open it, then open the Clip 1 folder
  5. Copy your clips into the folder.
  6. Once the clips have been copied into the folder they are automatically loaded into the show and will disappear from this folder.
  7. The clips have now been loaded and should be ready to play.

Getting Still Clips on to the Broadcast Pix Switcher

  1. The Still Image must be 720x486 pixels to display properly, and can be a JPG, GIF, BMP or TGA file.
  2. On the Mac, choose Finder Go then Connect to Server
  3. Type smb://Bpix then click Connect
  4. Choose the GFX SHARE Directory
  5. Find the Show Folder open it, then open the Still 1 folder
  6. Copy your still images into the folder.
  7. Once the images have been copied into the folder they are automatically loaded into the show and will disappear from this folder.
  8. The images have now been loaded and should be ready to view.

Getting CG Graphics on to the Broadcast Pix Switcher (From the CG Computer)

  1. Use TitleMotion software the CG computer beside the Bpix Switcher
  2. Create or edit your CG file.
  3. You may save your CG project on the CG computer, under the File menu select Save, and save the INS file in the C:\CG Projects\ Folder.
  4. To save the CG to the BPix system, select the Graphic you wish to export then choose Export - Export ICG File from the File menu
  5. Choose the G: Drive on the CG computer.
  6. Choose the Show Folder then the CG1 Folder
  7. Name the CG file with a unique name then Save the file

If the CG does not display choose Preferences from the File Menu and ensure the following settings are selected: NTSC and that the file is 720 x 486

PixMaster Show Editor can be used to clean up and remove content not in use for the current show.
